Find the perfect spot

Once your CO-DRIVER is set up, it's time to find the right spot for it in your car. Mounting works a bit differently depending on which CO-DRIVER you have.

How does the CO-DRIVER NO3 attach?

Your CO-DRIVER NO3 comes with two magnetic mounting pads already fixed to the back, each covered by a red protective film. Once the pads are stuck to a surface in your car, the device clicks onto them magnetically — so it stays put while you drive, and you can lift it off whenever you need to, for example to charge it.

Each magnet pad holds up to 1 kilogram, so together they give you 2 kilograms of holding force — plenty for the CO-DRIVER NO3, which weighs 64 grams.

Upgrading from a CO-DRIVER NO2? The CO-DRIVER NO3 uses the same magnet pads as the CO-DRIVER NO2. If the pads from your CO-DRIVER NO2 are already stuck in your car, you can simply click your CO-DRIVER NO3 onto them - no need to stick on new ones.

Choosing the right spot

The display is also the button you press to confirm, dismiss and report warnings, so pick a spot that's within easy reach and where you can glance at the screen without it blocking your view of the road.

Before you stick the pads Not every surface is a good match

The pads use a strong 3M adhesive. On some materials it may not hold as well, or it could leave marks or damage the surface if you remove the pads later. That's why we don't recommend sticking them on:

  • leather or faux leather
  • soft-touch or rubber-coated surfaces
  • fabric, Alcantara or suede
  • wood veneer or other delicate trim
  • surfaces recently treated with cockpit spray or other care products
  • airbag covers

Our tip: a smooth, hard, flat plastic surface gives the best result. If you'd still like to use one of the surfaces above, that's entirely your choice - just keep in mind that it's at your own risk.

How do I mount it?

    Clean the spot. Wipe it so it's clean, grease-free and fully dry. The adhesive bonds best when the surface isn't cold - around 15°C is ideal.

  2. 2

    Find the right spot. Choose a flat surface - the back of the CO-DRIVER NO3 is flat, so the pads need a flat area to stick properly. Hold the CO-DRIVER in a few places until you find the best one. Keep the red film on until you're sure - once the adhesive touches the surface, the pads can't be repositioned.

    Stick the pads on. Peel off the red film, place the CO-DRIVER with the pads attached against the surface and press for about 10 seconds.

  4. 4

    Lift the CO-DRIVER off. Carefully take the CO-DRIVER off the pads - the pads stay on the surface.

  5. 5

    Press the pads. Press firmly on the pads themselves, without the CO-DRIVER, for 20-30 seconds.

  6. 6

    Give it time. Leave the pads without the CO-DRIVER for at least 24 hours so the adhesive can bond properly. After that, click your CO-DRIVER on - you can take it off and put it back as often as you like.

Need to remove the magnet pads? Slide a thin, stiff, blunt tool carefully between the surface and the pad, and work it in gently until the pad lifts enough to grip with your fingers.

Once the adhesive magnet pads have been removed, they can't be used again — you'll need a new set, which you can get in our shop.

What are the two magnets on the device for?

The built-in magnets allow you to mount your CO-DRIVER easily and flexibly in your car — exactly where it works best for you. They keep the device securely in place while driving.

Where can I find the magnets?

The two adhesive magnets are already attached to the back of your CO-DRIVER. You'll recognise them by the red protective film.

Only remove the red protective film once you have found a spot for your CO-DRIVER. Once attached, the metal parts cannot be moved anymore. If you wish to remove the magnets, we recommend using a thin, stiff, blunt tool to carefully wedge between the mounting surface and the magnetic base until the magnet lifts enough to grasp with your fingers.

Each magnet can hold 1 kilogram — with two magnets, the total holding force is 2 kilograms. For reference, the CO-DRIVER NO2 weighs only 28 grams, the CO-DRIVER NO2 PLUS weighs 30 grams.

How do I mount using the magnets?

    Ensure the surface is thoroughly cleaned and completely dry before applying. The surface should not be too cold — around 15°C is ideal.

  2. 2

    Only remove the red protective film once you have found the perfect spot. Once the adhesive touches the surface, the magnets cannot be moved anymore.

  3. 3

    Press the magnets along with the CO-DRIVER onto the chosen surface for at least 30–60 seconds. Skipping this step may prevent the adhesive from bonding properly.

  4. 4

    The magnets will now securely hold your CO-DRIVER in place. You can easily remove the device at any time, while the magnets remain in their place.

How do I mount using the MOUNT?

The MOUNT offers a practical and secure way to mount your CO-DRIVER in your car, keeping it easily accessible at all times. Get the MOUNT in our shop.

Your package includes two magnetic metal plates. For the CO-DRIVER NO2, use the smaller metal plate.

    Stick the CO-DRIVER directly onto the smaller magnetic plate using the adhesive pads.

  2. 2

    Press the metal plate firmly against the CO-DRIVER for about 20 seconds.

  3. 3

    The metal plate is now firmly attached. Simply clip the MOUNT to the air vents in your car — the CO-DRIVER will stay securely in place while driving.

How do I mount my CO-DRIVER NO2 PLUS using the MOUNT NO2?

Your CO-DRIVER NO2 PLUS comes with the MOUNT NO2, which lets you attach the device to your car's sun visor.

    Remove the protective film from the adhesive strips on the magnets.

  2. 2

    Make sure the magnets are attached to the back of the CO-DRIVER and press it onto the MOUNT NO2.

  3. 3

    Clip the MOUNT NO2 (with the device attached) to your sun visor.

Thanks to the adhesive magnets, you can easily detach the device to charge it — and click it back into place when you're ready to go.

How do I mount using the adhesive pads?

The device has adhesive strips on the back which can be used to attach the CO-DRIVER wherever it is convenient for you in the car.

How do I mount using the MOUNT?

The MOUNT is an extra accessory you can purchase on our website. It lets you securely mount your CO-DRIVER and keep it easily accessible at all times. Get the MOUNT in our shop.
