Only the P-DISC NO2 and P-DISC NO3 use a blue flashing light to indicate that parking mode is active. The P-DISC NO1 does not flash blue in parking mode. So if you’re using a P-DISC NO1 and don’t see a blue light – don’t worry! That’s completely normal.
Your P-DISC NO2 and/or P-DISC NO3 uses a small blue light on the back of the device to signal when parking mode is activated - but if it’s blinking blue at the wrong time or not lighting up at all, here’s what to check:
What the blue light means
- The blue light should only flash when parking mode is activated - right after the vehicle is parked.
- While you’re driving, the light should be off and the display blank to save battery.
Note for electric and hybrid vehicles for P-Disc NO2/NO3:
In vehicles with low vibration levels — such as electric or modern hybrid models — the device may briefly detect parking mode while driving. This can occur in situations like traffic lights, stop-and-go traffic, very smooth driving, or at low speeds. Since these vehicles produce minimal vibration compared to combustion engines, the sensor may occasionally receive insufficient input to clearly distinguish between driving and standstill.

Check the battery
A low battery can cause unexpected blinking or prevent the display from activating in parking mode. If in doubt, try replacing the battery. You find a guide on how to change the battery: When and how do I replace the battery?
