What should I do when I receive an alert?
When you receive an alert from another person's SIRÈNE, you’ll get a push notification asking whether you want to accept or decline the request for help.
You can respond directly via the notification by selecting Yes or No. You’ll also find the option to assist or ignore inside the app itself.
If you choose to accept:
- You’ll be shown the exact location of the person who triggered the alert.
- The app will guide you with the fastest route to reach them.
- If other contacts accept the alert, you’ll also see their locations, allowing you to coordinate and decide together how best to assist.
Where and when will I receive alerts?
As a contact, you can receive alerts anywhere and anytime, day or night.
- Alerts are sent as critical notifications, which means they bypass silent mode and focus mode on your phone.
- You will not receive alerts if your phone is in airplane mode or disconnected from the internet.
Since alerts are only triggered in real emergencies, it is not expected that you’ll be contacted frequently. It’s perfectly fine if you’re unable to help every time - all contacts are notified, so others may be able to respond when you cannot.
Can I decline an alert?
Yes, you can.
When you receive an alert, simply tap No on the notification to decline.
You won’t be notified if someone else accepts the alert, but it’s always a good idea to check in with your contact later to make sure they are safe.
Will I be notified if another contact accepts the alert?
No, you will not receive a notification if someone else responds.
If you want to follow up, we recommend reaching out directly to your contact afterward.
Will I still receive alerts if my SIRÈNE is disconnected?
Yes.
As long as you are logged into the SIRÈNE app, you will still receive alerts from others — even if your own SIRÈNE is not currently connected.
We recommend checking occasionally to ensure you’re still logged in.
